I must admit, I concentrate on only tennis postings and issues tennis related within the industry. I feel the need to express my day in court, in a court room. A real court to me is a tennis court because matches can be battled. In a legal court room the judge just makes decisions as he pleases. If he is happy he dismisses the case, if he is pissed he gives bad decisions. I was pulled over on Valentines Day picking up a puppy dog for my girlfriend in Englewood driving back to Sarasota. I picked the dog up and about ten minutes later got pulled over around noon speeding about 20 MPH over the speed limit. I dont know if I was speeding but I will give the officer the benefit of the doubt in that I was. It was a 66 in a 45. About a quarter mile down the road it goes up to 55. Anyways the officer was cold and unfriendly with no empathy. I explained I was trying to keep a puppy down from biting my shorts while driving and that I did not keep an eye on the spedometer. Its not like I was drinking or anything. The officer did not care about Valentines Day, the puppy or the surprise I had planned and continued to write me a ticket and ruin my V-Day which was supposed to be great. I never wanted to punch out an officer so bad after he wrote the ticket. I went to court and explained that Thanksgiving, Christmas, and V-Day should be dedicated to drunk drivers and accidents and not speeders with puppies. He was not happy with my explanation at all and did not give me a fair sentencing. I had about 50 people in a court room oohing and aweing to my story and there was no empathy from the judge. So I gave up. I fought and fought. I must say the legal system was just wrong. I hate lawyers, I hate judges, I just dont agree with any of this BS.
THE WAY I SEE IT
Insensitivity makes arrogance ugly; empathy is what makes humility beautiful. Renford Reese, PHD.
There was arrogance on the officers part and no empathy on the officers part or the judges part. I would call the local paper but I dont care to spend my time that way. Moral of the story is to be cautious while driving because empathy is not on your side in the United States, not even in a recession and Aprils Fools Day sucks.
