Anna Kournakova Injured In Fight

wenn2482105.jpg

Former tennis pro Anna Kournikova ended up with cuts on her neck after getting into a Sin City shoving match on Saturday night.

At the HardBat Classic party inside Lavo Nightclub, another woman at the club threw a drink on her and all hell broke loose!

According to an onlooker, the Enrique Iglesias' girlfriend/possible wife and her assistant were sitting at a VIP table when the other woman bumped them. They shoved each other but were separated.

Then, the mystery woman returned later for more trouble!

"The woman came back over and threw a drink on Anna and her assistant," said the source. "The woman was definitely drunk."

Anna wanted to have the women kicked out, but it escalated quickly to where the pair were pushing and shoving each other!

Meow!

The woman grabbed Kournikova by the neck and pushed her into a wall right before security broke them apart!!!

Anna did not need treatment but was extremely shaken up.

Violence is never the answer!

Searching
Larry Marfise, prior to joining the Spartans, he served as athletics director at Ferris State University (Mich.) (1994-99).

For a guy who was the AD to a school who is most famously known for its "professional tennis management" you would think he would bring people in from that school to help manage the failing tennis program at the University of Tampa.

TAMPA TENNIS

Coach Al DuFaux will welcome two newcomers to a squad that returns each of its letterwinners.

TAMPA, Fla. – University of Tampa head tennis coach Al DuFaux announced the signing of two players to National Letters of Intent. Molly Welsh and Nikol Williams will both begin classes at UT in the fall of 2009.

Welsh, a native of Weatherford, Texas, attended Peaster High School. As a junior, Welsh captured the Texas state championship while being a state qualifier all four years. The Texas Super Champ was second in the state mixed doubles as a sophomore and third as a freshman while teaming with her brother, Colby Welsh. A member of the Peaster Hall of Fame, Welsh is also a member of the National Honor Society, Who’s Who and Student Council.

Williams comes to UT from Austin Texas, where she went to Lake Travis High School. While being ranked 73rd in the state of Texas, Welsh also played at the Polo Club for five years under Darin Pleasant. She also played for John Roddick, who is the brother and former coach of tennis pro Andy Roddick.

“This fall we will see two incoming freshman on the tennis team,” says DuFaux. “Molly (Welsh) and Nikol (Williams) will add depth to our starting lineup as Molly won the Texas State High School Championship last year. Nikol and Molly have been playing National Open tournaments as doubles partners. Not only are they fighters on court, but both excel in the classroom with high grade point averages. The team is excited to have them join us for our upcoming season.”

more jokes from university of tampa...coach recruits kids who are one star and a two star rated kids from texas according to www.tennisrecruiting.net.  coach had a three star recruit last season who could barely win a match and was from a real tennis state aka florida.  we will be sure to track how great they are in adding depth to a team already as deep as a puddle!  lucky to still have a job coach along with your athletic director who will both be axed as soon as someone with a sense of direction comes in to make a large donation to axe the deadweight and get qualified pros in house.
